Rohto signs strategic enterprise partnership with Hong Kong

Rohto Pharmaceutical, an Osaka-based Japanese healthcare company, announced on October 23 that it had signed an agreement to become a strategic enterprise partner of Hong Kong's government. The company, whose products include eye-care and skincare products, plans to use Hong Kong as a strategic base for business and collaboration across Asia.
The Office for Attracting Strategic Enterprises held a signing ceremony on October 22 for 18 companies establishing or expanding operations in Hong Kong, including Rohto. Rohto says it is the first Japanese company selected as a partner by the office. The programme gives selected companies individualized support to enter Hong Kong and expand their operations there.
Rohto established its research subsidiary, Rohto Advanced Research Hong Kong Limited, in January 2019. The subsidiary is located at Hong Kong Science Park. It works on regenerative medicine and clinical research, development and approvals in eye medicine, skin medicine, orthopaedics and medical devices. It also explores university, hospital and company partnerships, joint development and commercialization.
