Building-materials company CRH announced on October 23 that it had completed its acquisition of Arcosa, a US supplier of aggregates and products for critical infrastructure. The transaction has a total enterprise value of approximately $8.5 billion. CRH first announced the agreement to acquire the company on June 22, 2026.
Aggregates are materials such as crushed stone, sand and gravel. They are used in concrete and asphalt and in roads, railways and the foundations of buildings. Building-materials company CRH's chief executive Jim Mintern said Arcosa brings aggregates assets and a position in the US market for energy transmission.
According to CRH, the acquisition increases its exposure to demand from major road, water, energy and data projects across the United States. The company plans to update its guidance for the full year of 2026 to include the completed acquisition when it releases its third-quarter financial results on October 29.
