Singapore’s annual core inflation eased to 2.0% in September from 2.2% in August, according to consumer-price figures released on October 23, 2026. The Monetary Authority of Singapore and Ministry of Energy, Trade and Industry reported the figures. Annual inflation compares prices with the same month a year earlier; the core measure excludes accommodation and private transport.
Lower services and retail goods inflation drove the slowdown. Services inflation fell to 1.7% from 2.0%, as point-to-point transport costs rose less and telecommunications prices fell further. Retail and other goods inflation dropped to 1.2% from 1.8%, with falling furniture prices and slower clothing price increases. Food inflation rose to 2.4% from 2.3%; accommodation reached 0.9% from 0.8%.
All-items inflation eased to 2.2% from 2.3%. Monthly core and all-items prices rose 0.1% and 0.2%, respectively. Authorities project average core inflation of 1.5–2.0% in 2026 and 1.5–2.5% in 2027, remaining slightly elevated in the coming quarters before easing more clearly from mid-2027. They see upward risks, including sharp, sustained global energy or food price rises.
