Actors and producers discussed lasting fan support for Thai television dramas about romance and relationships at an industry forum in Bangkok, Thailand, on 20 October. Star Hunter Entertainment founder Yot Kornherun said popular screen pairings could generate merchandise sales, overseas fan meetings and visits to filming locations. Participants suggested Phuket, Chiang Mai and Khon Kaen could attract international fans.
Actor and travel content creator Phiravich Attachitsataporn said fans follow performers’ personalities and lifestyles as well as individual series, supporting later projects. Actor Warangsiri Tanajarusworaphat argued that acting skills and viewers’ trust matter more than brief popularity. Director and producer Yongyoot Thongkongtoon said more complex storylines could broaden audiences.
Phiravich also raised concerns about production crews working 16-hour days and dozens of promising series lacking adequate financial backing. Forum participants proposed cooperation between government and businesses on production infrastructure, financing, crew welfare and international fan marketing.
