The seventh Japan Rail Fair in Singapore was scheduled for 15–17 October at Urban Park, Guoco Tower, with free admission. Organised by JR East Business Development SEA around discovering culture, its programme advertised regional Japanese destinations, travel services and brands across 17 interactive booths. The advertised focus included Kanto, Tohoku and less familiar destinations, with Sendai, Hakodate and San’in among the destinations listed.
The announced stamp activities involved collecting six distinct stamps for a draw, or combining four to reveal an illustration. A new community puzzle mural was planned to mark 60 years of diplomatic ties between Singapore and Japan. Plans called for a mural around five metres wide and two and a half metres high, containing more than 300 tiles.
Food was also part of the advertised programme, alongside the travel and cultural activities. Offerings listed included Hokkaido dairy products, Japanese pears, regional snacks, wasabi-flavoured treats and sake.
