Therabody, a United States wellness device company, announced its AI shopping assistant Jason on 21 October 2026. Customers can access it through 'Chat to Shop' in the company's online store. Therabody says Jason asks about needs, budget and lifestyle to recommend suitable products, including for athletic recovery, pain relief and sleep.
The company says the assistant can explain supporting research, provide study sources, add products to a shopping bag and complete checkout within the conversation. Caitlin Berzok, Therabody's Senior Vice President of Digital, says recommendations should explain evidence relevant to individual customers. The assistant can make mistakes and does not provide medical advice.
Therabody says it developed Jason in under 90 days using Amazon Web Services' Agentic Shopping Assistant, integrated with Shopify. It reports deployment on its own infrastructure, retaining control over interface design, product context and guardrails. Therabody sells directly to consumers and through more than 10,000 retail locations.
