Kanaden, a Japanese industrial electronics solutions company based in Tokyo, has invested $2 million in RSYNQ, a physical artificial-intelligence infrastructure company based in Los Angeles, California, in the United States. The companies announced the transaction in English on October 16 and in Japanese on October 19. The partnership is intended to accelerate RSYNQ’s commercial expansion in Japan.
RSYNQ says it is developing Semantic Intent Protocol, software middleware designed to connect AI systems, robots, sensors, machines and autonomous devices from different manufacturers. Its proposed system translates high-level objectives into coordinated actions by individual devices, while monitoring system state, dependencies and execution. The companies describe connecting proprietary interfaces and isolated software environments as complicated and expensive.
The companies plan to work together on customer development, demonstrations, proof-of-concept programmes, system integration and Japanese commercialization. They identify manufacturing, logistics, agriculture, transport, hospitality, healthcare and infrastructure as potential applications for the software.
