A female cat named Jaga in Atlanta, in the United States, has raised four orphan kittens as well as five of her own, according to rescue group Catz 4 Life. All nine kittens have been adopted, while Jaga remains in a foster home.
Jaga was found in a pet carrier in an Atlanta park with her five kittens. The veterinary clinic The Cat Doctor Atlanta housed her overnight, and Catz 4 Life placed her in foster care. She nursed and groomed her own kittens, a group named the Thundercats.
The four orphan kittens were named the Guardians of the Galaxy. Although Jaga was not their biological mother, she also nursed and groomed them. They climbed around the foster home as well as curling against her. No kittens remain in her care. She lives with other foster cats. Catz 4 Life rescuer Aimee described her as calm.
