FPT has opened its first African office in New Cairo, Egypt. The Vietnam-headquartered technology-services company intends the office to support clients across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. FPT says its initial team of more than 60 local engineers provides software development, artificial-intelligence solutions, application support and other IT services to customers in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait.
Egypt's Information Technology Industry Development Agency and FPT signed a memorandum at Cairo's Global Offshoring Summit in November 2025. It provided a framework to support FPT's investment and use local talent to serve international clients. FPT plans to enter European markets from Egypt, starting with France.
Before the opening, agency chief Ahmed Elzaher met FPT executives to discuss expansion, specialist technology skills and Egyptian workforce growth. He said attracting more complex technology operations and developing specialist capabilities could expand services from Egypt. FPT's service areas include software development, AI, cloud and data, embedded systems, chip design and advanced engineering.
