Qatar Museums opened an exhibition exploring home, hospitality and belonging in Doha on October 25. Beyti Beytak • My Home is Your Home is organised by the future Art Mill Museum at the Fahad bin Ali Palace. The 1953 landmark beside the Amiri Diwan is opening to the public for the first time. The exhibition runs until May 29, 2027.
The Doha presentation expands a show first presented at the 2025 Venice architecture biennale. More than 40 architects, designers and other practitioners contribute from the Middle East, North Africa, South Asia and beyond. Seven sections use models, drawings, archives, films and site-specific installations to examine communal spaces, ranging from oases to homes and museums.
Iraqi architect Ola Znad's new Souq Al Liqa installation uses traditional sustainable reed construction and honours women's knowledge of weaving, dyeing, storytelling and hospitality in southern Iraq's marshes. It is intended for public activities. Tours, workshops and talks for schools, universities and families are planned through May 2027.
