Rocket Lab, a supplier of rockets, satellites and spacecraft components, launched an Electron rocket from Launch Complex 1 in New Zealand on October 23 at 8:11 p.m. local daylight time. The dedicated commercial mission delivered three HawkEye 360 HAWK satellites into a low Earth orbit at an altitude of 520 kilometres.
Named We're Not Hawking Around, the flight was Electron's 98th launch and Rocket Lab's 19th launch of 2026. It was the third Electron launch dedicated to HawkEye 360's radio-frequency sensing satellites. HawkEye 360 is a signals-intelligence data and analytics company, and its satellites operate in formations of three, collecting signals across the radio-frequency spectrum.
Applications include maritime tracking, detecting jamming of navigation signals, monitoring radar, mapping communications and space defence. Rocket Lab supplies equipment for commercial, government and defence missions. The company says its spacecraft and components have powered more than 1,700 missions, including flights in Earth orbit and deep-space exploration.
