Apple, the US personal technology company, announced a new partnership with Perryman Company and an expanded partnership with Qnity Electronics on October 20, 2026. Both are part of its American Manufacturing Program, which supports advanced manufacturing and the production of critical components in the United States.
Apple says Perryman, a family-owned titanium producer in Houston, Pennsylvania, will supply titanium for the enclosure of Apple's foldable iPhone Duo smartphone. Apple says it has committed to investing up to $100m in the partnership over a period of three years. The enclosure uses grade 5 titanium, and Perryman's titanium for the device contains at least 80% recycled material. The producer's operations include melting, forging and rolling titanium.
Delaware-based Qnity joined the programme in March 2026. It produces advanced films in the United States for the variable aperture camera system in the iPhone 18 Pro. The camera system allows control over the amount of light and the depth in a photograph.
