Concerts begin at 20:00 on Fridays and Saturdays and at 19:00 on Sundays. In Barra da Tijuca, the Brazilian production of The Color Purple opens at Teatro Multiplan on October 14. It runs through October 25, with Suzana Santana playing Celie and Tadeu Aguiar directing.
The musical is performed in Portuguese, and tickets start at 60 reais. Filmgoers can also visit Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil for Soy Loco por Ti, Centroamérica. That season runs through October 19, bringing together 21 films with Portuguese subtitles. Admission is free, adding another option alongside the city's ticketed music and theatre programmes.
